Sismotur with Ancud
Sismotur takes another step in its strategy to create a global network of Smart Tourist Destinations connected to Inventrip and begins its implementation in the American continent in the municipality of Ancud, located in the north of Chiloé Island in the Los Lagos region of Chile.
The project, which will be presented next Tuesday, September 10th, by local and island authorities, with the invitation of the Regional Directorate of SERNATUR, has involved the development of a smart tourist information and signage plan and the implementation of the Inventrip platform.
An alliance for innovation and tourism
The combination of Sismotur’s advanced smart signage technology with the innovative Inventrip platform offers an enhanced and personalized tourist experience. The main objective of this initiative is to transform the way visitors explore and enjoy Ancud through:
- A network of 36 smart panels, totems, and plaques, where visitors can access detailed, updated, and multimedia information about the World Heritage Churches of Chiloé, beaches, natural spaces, tourist routes, and cultural events in Ancud through their mobile device using the web service and the new Inventrip app.
- 1000 promotional NFC cards where tourists will receive personalized experiences based on their interests, distributed at tourist information points and also used to promote the destination at tourism fairs.
- A network of 20 digital geobeacons where tourists will receive information upon arrival at Puerto Montt airport, at Chacao port, at the entrance to Chiloé Island, and at major transport stations and tourist areas.
Commitment to local development
This project also represents an opportunity for local development and private sector revitalization, promoting sustainable tourism and encouraging community participation. To this end, 150 digital kits connected to Inventrip have been distributed, including banners and stands for tourism establishments. The tourism sector will thus participate in promoting the destination of Ancud and act as digital ambassadors of its cultural and natural heritage.
