La Gomera will have new signage for its network of viewpoints
The company GESPLAN, responsible for the definition of the Miradores Network of La Gomera Island, has entrusted Sismotur with the development of a comprehensive tourist signage plan throughout the island’s road network and municipal accesses.
The plan has involved the definition and design of 260 traffic signs intended for both main roads and urban environments. For its development, a classic master plan methodology has been applied, which included a detailed hierarchy of viewpoints based on their tourist importance. This hierarchy has allowed for the establishment of the most appropriate signage routes, ensuring proper guidance for visitors toward the island’s most prominent spots.
In addition to road signage, the project has also included interpretive signage specific to the viewpoints, with a proposal of 148 informational signs: 110 interpretive panels and 38 boards that offer detailed information about the natural and cultural environment of each viewpoint. This interpretive signage aims to enrich the visitor’s experience by providing unique historical, geographical, and scenic contexts of La Gomera.
Thanks to this ambitious project, La Gomera strengthens its tourism infrastructure, making it easier for visitors to access and understand its natural heritage through modern and efficient signage.
